Arts & Crafts welcomes Gentleman Reg
Arts & Crafts is thrilled to announce the addition of Toronto-based songwriter Gentleman Reg (aka Reg Vermue) to its roster of artists. No stranger to the Arts & Crafts family, Reg has toured as part of the spirited ensemble, The Hidden Cameras, as well as being a guest vocalist with Broken Social Scene, including an appearance at this weekend’s Siren Music Festival, July 19 on Coney Island.
Previously enjoying success with the 2006 John Cameron Mitchell film, “Short Bus” in which he was featured both with a role in the film as well as on the soundtrack, Gentleman Reg is currently finishing details on his forthcoming full-length album, which will be titled Jet Black; the follow-up to his acclaimed 2004 release, Darby & Joan (Three Gut Records).
The Arts & Crafts release marks Gentleman Reg’s first release outside of his native Canada. “We have been both friends of Reg and fans of his music for some time now.” Commented Arts & Crafts co-owner, Jeffrey Remedios, “We’re honoured to be working with another Three Gut alumni, and are excited that this is a world-wide deal- bringing Reg’s music to all you non-Canadians for the very first time.”
Gentleman Reg will perform this Thursday, July 17 at New York City’s Mercury Lounge supporting the Broken Social Scene Presents: Brendan Canning ‘Something For All Of Us…’ CD release. Those in the Toronto area can catch him performing as part of the Summer Works Festival, August 9th at The Great Hall.
