Bishop Morocco
Bishop Morocco is the musical vision of James Sayce and Jake Fairly. The Toronto-based duo recorded its 2008 self-titled debut at a homemade studio inside their shared in Groningen, Netherlands, earning international attention from the likes of Parisian tastemaker Collette and helping develop a strong following at home in Canada. Two years later, Bishop Morocco arrives on Arts & Crafts with Old Boys, a six-track EP on which the band strays from its original new wave influences towards a thicker, more contemplative sound, aided by the addition of Ian Worang on guitar and Jon McCann on drums.

Dan Mangan
Once a mere fresh faced folk singer from Vancouver, Canada, Dan Mangan now stands at the world’s doorstep. The evolution of Mangan’s music is instinctively in line with its breadth and sincerity. As his art has developed, so has the story behind its constant and exponential proliferation.

The proof is in countless European jaunts, U.S. tours with The Walkmen, Decemberists and Okkervil River, two performances at Glastonbury, multiple trips to Australia, NPR features and endless critical acclaim.

Justin Peroff of Broken Social Scene + Dave Hamelin and Liam O'Neil of The Stills = Eight and a Half. Gold & Youth
Formed in Victoria BC, Canada, in the fall of 2008 and settled now in Vancouver, GOLD & YOUTH (formerly known as The Racoons, and for a second Jakarta) has developed their craft on a considerable number of stages. Musically, they blend synthetic and organic textures. Sequenced bass and programmed drum loops are layered against the sound of a live band, creating a density one might not expect from a three-piece. Danceable, but you could a rock out if you want to. Also: they write a lot of hooks!

Molly Rankin
Molly Rankin is the girl next door. But she's smoking in the basement, writing gruff pop songs with irresistible hooks.

At 22, the youngest member of one of Canada's most famous musical families, a songwriter with her tongue firmly planted in her own cheek, simultaneously honouring and transcending her own pedigree.

Parlovr
Incubated in a Mile End loft during 2006-07 by Alex Cooper (keys/vocals), Louis David Jackson (guitar/vocals) and Jeremy MacCuish (drums), Parlovr emerged in late 2008 with its self-titled debut, featuring a collection of raw, dynamic tracks as odd as they were infectious. Quirky, catchy and full of familiar and unknowable elements, the album garnered rave reviews and blog buzz surrounding Parlovr's salacious sounds, with Stereogum and Brooklyn Vegan taking notice and Spin Magazine trumping the band as one of five to watch from Montreal.

The Darcys
THE DARCYS are an art rock band from Toronto. Their self-titled Arts & Crafts debut was produced by Murray Lightburn of The Dears and released on October 25, 2011 as a free download and on limited edition vinyl. It is the first in a trio of planned full-length records. Second in the trilogy is AJA, an interpretation of Steely Dan's 1977 studio masterpiece that was produced, arranged and recorded by the band. It was released January 24, 2012 also on limited edition vinyl and as a free download. A third original studio album is planned for late 2012.

Trust
Trust is Robert Alfons and Maya Postepski. Formed in 2009, the Toronto-based duo released its first singles, "Candy Walls" and "Bulbform," on Brooklyn-based Sacred Bones Records in 2011 before signing with Arts & Crafts for the 2012 release of their forthcoming debut full length, TRST.

In the last year they've performed with DFA1979, Crystal Castles, Austra, Balam Acab, Glass Candy, and Hercules and Love Affair. Tales of lust, wax, and erotomania carry along on a dense black vapor of speed, space and tears. Trust is a pop hit factory buried deep in the mud.

Uncle Bad Touch
Mikey from Priestess with his girlfriend, Kathryn, and their drummer-friend, Shawn spent two weeks in the summer jamming and recording in Mikey's kitchen. As they finished each song, they put them up on. FacebookThere was an amazing reaction to their, fuzzy, catchy, hooky tunes recorded on Garageband. They spent the rest of the summer playing sweaty loft parties and bbqs and have become one of the new breakout bands from Montreal this coming year. Their super lo-fi, fun, fuzzy, garagy sound and loveable live show is infectious. Mikey and Kathryn are such a cool, loveable couple to see up front and center.

Zeus
Few bands can be simultaneously timeless and relevant, but that's exactly the hi-wire act Zeus has become as a new millennium hit factory set for a triumphant return with the release of sophomore full-length Busting Visions.

The album follows 2010 Polaris Prize-nominated debut Say Us, which topped CBC charts, won XM The Verge's award for Album of the Year, garnered stellar reviews from top rock mags like Q and Uncut and led to shows with Broken Social Scene, Metric, Sam Roberts Band, Bright Eyes and Belle & Sebastian.

Zulu Winter
Twelve years after their first practice as a band, Oxfordshire, England quartet Zulu Winter gears up to release Language, a debut album inspired by everything from 19th century literature to obscure '60s electronica. Language will be released in North America on June 19 via Arts & Crafts.

The record is a collection of multi-dimensional songs that bleed with sentiment and syncopated dance beats. The album opens with "Key To My Heart," a sincere message of love that showcases the depth and richness of the band's sound with layers of swirling instrumentation. The upbeat "Silver Tongue" is driven by an energetic bass line that leads to a danceable chorus. "Bitter Moon" is an emotionally charged track hinged on a powerful chorus, inviting listeners to experience a vulnerable side of the band. "We Should Be Swimming" is a melancholic pop-song running over a compelling rhythm.
