Timber Timbre Premieres Chad Vangaalen-Animated Video For "Beat The Drum Slowly," From New Album 'Hot Dreams' (Out Today) - 31/03/14

Timber Timbre is exclusively premiering the video for "Beat The Drum Slowly," stunningly animated by Chad VanGaalen, via TIME. The track kicks off their "seductive, inviting…and deeply creepy" (NPR) new album, 'Hot Dreams,' out today on Arts & Crafts. Check out the video, "filled with imagery of creeping lines and exploding thoughts, the animation seems innocent at first, before it turns unsettling; it pairs perfectly with the slow thumping of the song," here.  See below for full North American tour dates, including a newly announced West Coast run in June.

The new tour dates follow the recent announcement of three big shows in Canada over the spring and summer months. Timber Timbre will inaugurate Live At Massey Hall, a brand new concert and film event at the historic Toronto venue, with a special headline performance on May 23, supported by label-mate Cold Specks. The four-piece will bring its taut and transportive live show to Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom in June amidst a run of Western US and Canadian dates, finally landing at Montreal's Metropolis and Quebec City's Le Cercle in September.

With Hot Dreams, Taylor Kirk and Simon Trottier daub vibrant colour across Timber Timbre's ever-evolving palette, connecting arid western to plodding horror with the pomp of Hollywood phantasm. 'Hot Dreams' is the follow-up to 2011's Polaris Music Prize short-listed and JUNO Award-winning 'Creep On Creepin' On', which was hailed for its "black humour and spectral beauty" (The Guardian) and "possessed…a style all its own" (Pitchfork). Billboard named Timber Timbre one of 10 to Watch at SXSW and said 'Hot Dreams' sounds like "Nick Cave soundtracking a romantic date night." Esquire said it will turn "your day into the opening credits of a black-and-white art flick in all the best ways." In the UK, The Guardian called it a "smoky, Lynchian treat" in a glowing 5/5-star review.

Tickets for the tour are on-sale now.

Timber Timbre Releases Title Track And Video from Hot Dreams Announce European Tour - 28/01/14

On "Hot Dreams", the title single off Timber Timbre's third studio album for Arts & Crafts, Taylor Kirk and collaborator Simon Trottier daub vibrant colour across the restless evolution of the band's earthy, angular palette. Seductive guitars drape over languid synthesizers, animating an otherwise reticent Kirk singing in his singular low intonation. The consonance of Mika Posen's strings mingle with vintage contributions from Olivier Fairfield on drums and Mathieu Charbonneau on keys. Guest Colin Stetson envelops the backing vocals of Romy Lightman (Tasseomancy, Austra) in timeless cycles of velvet saxophone. The breathtaking video produced by Scott Cudmore and Michael LeBlanc clearly defines the new space of Hot Dreams' Timber Timbre, slathered in viscous tonality: a new sonic admission, ringing sensuality and caprice, neon and haze. Hot Dreams is Timber Timbre's most fully realized work in a sinuous and infinitely rewarding catalogue of vivid imagistic music.

Timber Timbre Announces April 1st Release Of Hot Dreams - 10/12/13

Timber Timbre and Arts & Crafts announce the April 1, 2014, release of Hot Dreams, the follow-up to the multi-JUNO Award nominated and Polaris Music Prize shortlisted Creep On Creepin' On. The Scott Cudmore directed album trailer suggests Taylor Kirk's most vividly cinematic music to date, adding arid western and viscous tonality to Timber Timbre's signature haunted folk.

Hot Dreams coalesced throughout 2013 with long-time collaborator Simon Trottier stepping forward to join Kirk as co-composer/co-producer on this album. Culled from ideas born during a stint Kirk spent in Laurel Canyon, he and Trottier arranged the new songs at The Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta, later adding from the array of synthesizers at Calgary'sNational Music Centre.

Engineered by Graham Lessard at the Banff Centre and Thee Mighty Hotel 2 Tango in Montreal, and mixed by Mark Lawson, Timber Timbre's third studio album for Arts & Crafts sees return collaborators Mika Posen on all string arrangements, with vintage contributions from Olivier Fairfield on drums and Mathieu Charbonneau on keys. Returning guest Colin Stetson lends atypically velvet saxophone, while the backing vocals of Romy Lightman (Tasseomancy, Austra) and words by Simone Schmidt (Fiver, One Hundred Dollars) round out the guest appearances on Hot Dreams.

For the Hot Dreams album trailer Timber Timbre once again turns to Scott Cudmore, director of the band's videos for "Demon Host" and "We'll Find Out" from Timber Timbre (2009).
